AlterEgo, created at MIT, is a near-telepathic wearable that lets you communicate at the speed of thought. It detects brain signals to your speech system before words are spoken, allowing silent interaction with AI with no keyboard, no voice, and no distraction.

When AlterEgo was ready to announce this breakthrough technology to the world, they needed a website that could match the urgency of the moment. They turned to Geist, a digital brand studio in Portland, with an aggressive deadline and high expectations. Geist turned to Framer to make it happen.

Meeting the moment

AlterEgo’s launch window was tight. Geist needed to move fast, and without internal development resources. Framer changed the equation. The design tool allowed Geist’s team to design and build in the same environment, eliminating handoffs and keeping momentum. What would normally require weeks of back-and-forth happened in real time.

Real-time collaboration

Speed matters, but so does getting it right. Geist brought AlterEgo directly into Framer throughout the process, where the team could review designs, edit content, and approve changes on the fly. This hands-on approach meant decisions were made faster and with more confidence, keeping the project moving forward right through to launch.

Ready for expansion

AlterEgo’s announcement was just the beginning, and Geist knew the site would need to keep evolving quickly. They used Framer’s design freedom to create a modular system of components and layouts that could be assembled on demand to expand the site. The result: new pages in are published in seconds, perfectly on-brand, every time.

The first of many

For Geist, this was uncharted territory. It was their first website fully designed, built, and launched with Framer. The experience proved what’s possible when design and development happen in one place, clients collaborate directly in-product, and speed doesn’t require compromising on quality.

Eric Mortensen reflects on the launch:

“This was our first time building a complete site in Framer, and honestly, it couldn’t have gone smoother. We’re excited to keep building with the platform.”

AlterEgo met the moment. Geist delivered without the usual friction. And Framer made it all possible.
