Why isn’t Safari displaying the favicon?
If you've noticed that your website's favicon isn't displaying correctly in Safari, don't worry, this issue is relatively common and can be fixed.
Safari does not support .svg favicons. If you have uploaded your favicon as an .svg file, you will need to change it to a .png or .jpg format. For more details about browser support, you can find information here.
Even after changing the favicon and republishing your website, Safari might still not display the new favicon due to caching issues. To resolve this, you can either clear your cache or visit your website in incognito mode. If the problem persists, please follow these steps:
Close and quit Safari.
Using Finder, click Go > Go to Folder from the menu bar.
Enter
~/Library/Safari/Favicon Cache/
in the pop-up window and click Go.Select all items in the cache folder and move them to the Trash. You can select all with the keyboard shortcut Command + A, then drag them to your Trash or right-click and choose Move to Trash.
Empty your Trash or delete those items from it.
Open Safari.
The Safari favicon cache folder will rebuild itself as you visit websites. You will need to revisit the sites you have saved for the favicons to appear correctly, but those that were incorrect or missing should now display properly. For more information, visit this page on Apple Discussions.
