Understanding partner and affiliate payouts

This guide offers insights into how partner and affiliate payouts work at Framer. It covers key aspects such as payment thresholds, timing, and setup requirements to ensure you receive your earnings smoothly.

Partner payouts

Partners receive payouts two months after reaching the $200 threshold to account for potential template refunds. Payouts are processed in batches corresponding to specific months. For example, earnings from March are paid out in May, while earnings from April are paid out in June.

We use FirstPromoter to track partner referrals and Contra to process payouts, transferring them to your wallet once they are ready.

Managing payouts with FirstPromoter

After joining the partner program, you will receive an invitation to FirstPromoter, where you can find your affiliate tag and track your payments and referrals. This platform helps you manage your performance and monitor your earnings before they are processed.

  • You’ll find your affiliate link there, which you can share with new users so they can sign up. The characters after the = sign represent your partner tag.

  • If you're building templates or working with clients, you need to add a version of this tag to the end of your remix link (for example: https://framer.com/projects/new?duplicate=ASuqMUXMTHwmTguM8Qr&via=partner-tag). Learn more about how to create a remix link with an affiliate tag.

Ensuring the correct setup is crucial because we can only attribute referrals if the partner tag is added correctly to remix links.

Receiving payouts with Contra

Once your earnings have been tracked through FirstPromoter and you have met the $200 threshold, our team will automatically use Contra to process your payouts. You will receive a confirmation once your payout has been processed.

To receive your payout, you’ll need a Contra account. If you don’t have one, you can create it by accessing this link.

Make sure to use the same email address for both your FirstPromoter and Contra accounts. This is essential to avoid any issues during the payout process.

Once your payout is processed, the amount will be transferred to your Contra wallet, where you can withdraw or manage your funds.

Important reminders

Always use the remix link with your partner tag attached when building for clients or creating templates to ensure proper attribution. When embedding Framer in content such as blogs or courses, utilize the framer.com affiliate link. We can only attribute sites to partners if the client site is submitted with the remix link that includes the partner tag at the end.
