Connect to our new and improved hosting

We recently introduced new IP addresses for custom domains at Framer. With this guide, we’ll explain what this change entails and what you need to do.

At Framer, we’re constantly working to enhance the hosting experience for your sites. A key improvement is our new set of dedicated IP addresses, which we now fully own. This gives us better control in emergencies and ensures that the IPs are not “tainted” by past usage, which could trigger security flags. We highly recommend adopting this new setup, and it requires minimal effort on your part.

Here’s what you need to do

Replace your DNS records with the Framer DNS records provided below in the web hosting service you have purchased your domain from.

Domain registrars and hosting companies typically have their own custom panel for DNS management, but this can typically be done under Domain Settings > DNS Records. Listed below is a list of support articles for the most commonly used domain registrars:

Step-by-step guide

Step 1: Add the new Framer IPs as new A records in your DNS settings
  1. Add a new A record: 31.43.160.6

  2. Add a new A record: 31.43.161.6

  3. Important: do not remove the old Framer IPs yet

  4. Check that the new and old DNS records are returned globally

    1. For example use: https://dnschecker.org/#A/yourdomain.com

    2. You should see green checkmarks ✅ in all regions on the map

    3. Important: check each region explicitly: you must see 4 Framer IPs per region

    4. If you see different results (in different regions) and/or ❌

      1. Give it some time (DNS changes need some time to take effect)

      2. If the issue remains the same after 24 hrs, contact your Domain Registrar

Step 2: Remove the old Framer IPs from your DNS settings
  1. Only remove the old Framer IPs if everything checks out in previous steps

  2. Remove the old A record: 52.223.52.2

  3. Remove the old A record: 35.71.142.77

  4. Your DNS should now only return the new Framer IPs. Please note, it can take up to 24 hours for the DNS records to update, but your site will continue to work.

Your site won’t go offline immediately, but we’ll remind you periodically to update your DNS records.
