I sat down with the Founder of Framer University, Nandi Muszik, exploring the story behind his success with the educational content that has shaped much of the Framer Creator Economy today.

Intro

Q: How are you sustaining yourself financially while working on Framer University?

A: I don't have a job, so Framer University is my main focus. I plan to monetize the project through live classes and other revenue streams.

The story behind Framer University

Q: Could you give an overview of Framer University and your background?

A: Framer University is a platform I created to teach people how to use Framer. I started it because I was excited about Framer and wanted to share my knowledge. I have a background in graphic design and started learning design tools at a young age.

Q: How did you get into the design industry at a young age?

A: I've always been interested in creating things and being creative. I started learning editing tools like Photoshop and Sony Vegas at a young age. I also had various YouTube channels where I focused on creating projects and designing logos for them.

Q: Would you consider yourself more of a creator or a designer?

A: I see myself as a mix of both. I enjoy creating content and being consistent with it. I also enjoy designing things, but I prefer working on personal projects rather than client work.

Goals and Monetization of Framer University

Q: What is your vision for Framer University and how do you plan to monetize it?

A: My vision is to make all the courses on Framer University free and become the go-to place for learning Framer. I plan to monetize the project through live classes and other monetization strategies that I'm currently exploring.

Q: How are you currently sustaining yourself financially while working on Framer University?

A: At the moment, I'm fully invested in Framer University. I don't have a job, and I stopped monetizing my Instagram page to focus solely on the project. I'm currently exploring ways to start making money with Framer University, such as through live classes.

Q: Do you have any other plans for generating revenue with Framer University?

A: Along with live classes, I have ideas for other monetization strategies, but they are still flexible and not certain at the moment. However, I want to keep the courses on Framer University free and monetize the project through other means.

Dealing with a Bad Launch and Content Creation

Q: How did you deal with the template launch that didn't meet your expectations?

A: I was expecting better sales for the template launch, and it was disappointing. However, I learned from it and focused on the future. Having previous experiences with similar situations helped me handle it better.

Q: What are your thoughts on the current creator economy and building a product-led business in Framer?

A: There are many creators in the Framer community, and people are trying to turn their Framer skills into side hustles or businesses. My advice would be to consistently create valuable content and find something you can monetize your audience with, such as templates, courses, or freelancing services.

One Feature you Would Love to See in Framer

Q: What is one feature you would love to see in Framer?

A: I would like to see improvements in the CMS (Content Management System) within Framer. Specifically, I would like more advanced filtering and sorting options, as well as additional fields in the CMS.

Wrap-up and Connect

Q: Is there anything you would change in the past few months since starting Framer University?

A: While there may have been some mistakes along the way, I don't dwell on them. I prefer to focus on the future and keep moving forward.

Q: Where can people best connect with you?

A: Twitter is the best platform to connect with me. You can find me on Twitter at twitter.com/learnframer or frameruniversity. I also have a YouTube channel.
